About me
Sue Lynn Wood resides in Valdez, Alaska, with her husband and their beloved pet Ruffy. Born in Portland, Oregon, she spent her formative years in Clark County, Washington. Drawn by their fascination with Alaska, the couple relocated to Valdez in 1999. “Sue Lynn Wood” is a pseudonym honoring three generations of women from her maternal lineage. Currently, she works full-time as a proud member of IBEW 1547 at the local electric utility and is looking forward to retiring next year. Motivated by recent life changes, Sue decided to share her poetry to honor her authentic self. This collection marks her emergence as a writer, symbolized by the Phoenix Butterfly metaphor, and celebrates her journey of self-discovery and creative expression.
